I was a Pension Actuary, Catastrophe Modeling Analyst, Financial Analyst, International Tax Manager, and Vice President in the International Tax Transfer Pricing Group.  With both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree, I have worked in the financial industry for the past 7 years.  Seven years of sitting in a 4 x 4 cubicle in front of a computer, job after job.  Filling my days with Excel spreadsheets, Access database tables, SQL queries, complaining clients, random presentations, meaningless meetings, and disgruntled colleagues with less than substantial pay.  All for what?  To sustain a lifestyle that I didn’t really want or like.  I asked myself if this is what I want to do for the rest of my life?  Does this fulfil me as a person and put me towards my life goals.  The answer was ‘no’.  Some say I’m crazy and others admire me for my decision.  Why would anyone quit their job in an economy like today with nothing else lined up just to follow their dream with no certainty of the future?  Call me crazy!
